Being a stay-at-home mom is a very hard job. Just as the jobs our hubbies go to are hard, ours is too. Probobly harder because we are trying to teach the loves of our lives the way that they should live as adults, and we are secretly hoping that we are not screwing them up instead (or at last I am). Now while our hubbies are getting raises, and we are not, we are still being thanked, and I think what we recieve is way better than any raise. Little arms running at us to squeeze our necks, sloppy kisses, sweet little milky smiles. There is nothing in the world that you can buy with the money our hubbies recieve with each raise that is better than what we recieve. And maybe one day when your child is holding their child in their arms they will finally understand just how much you mean to them, and they will tell you how much they appreciate you.

Parenting is the greatest privilege in the world, even if it is demanding sometimes (OK, often). It is great because it comes with built-in rewards: the kids! No need for anything else, really.

Being a great mother is the most important thing I want to accomplish. I have a lot to learn and a lot to unlearn

Parenting is a lot of work!! I appreciate your attitude of thankfulness.

Duckabush Blog Dh wrote a long post about our 'tomato-staking' parenting. A true challenge.
